NES Classic Edition System

It’s Christmas and it’s time to remember one of the gifts that have become classics over the past few years: retro consoles.

The year: 2016. That Christmas, my girlfriend, who knew I was a retro gaming enthusiast, offered me the NES Classic Edition System. It was the ideal gift for a half-geek type like me.

Its launch, in November of 2016, had stock problems in several chains of stores, and those who hadn’t made his order in advance remained of hand to shake. Anyway, I had mine and spent a few hours playing Super C, Super-Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and Galaga.

But what is NES Classic Edition System anyway?

The NES Classic Edition System is a miniaturized version of the groundbreaking NES, originally released in 1985. It turns possible to play NES games the way they’re meant to be played – with a full-size “original” controller. There are some improvements over the original console, it’s now possible to pick up right where you left off with four Suspend Point slots for each game. You can lock your save file and resume at a later time so there’s no danger of losing your progress. This is the perfect gift for collectors or anyone who loves games.

Attention: for the girlfriends who are thinking about offering this videogame console to their boyfriends… I think my girlfriend has regretted giving me the NES Classic Edition System (no time for her…)
